Delhi, 13 May 2014: Hockey
India today announced Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as its
new Associate member, who from now on will take part in all the
national championships in future.
CISF
is a paramilitary force under Ministry of Home Affairs providing
integrated security cover to the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
Over the past few years, it has grown several folds and has a number
of teams with international/national level sports persons. Last year,
CISF came up with an initiative of CISF Sports Person Recruitment
which contributed immensely to Indian sports.
“We
are delighted to welcome CISF as our Associate Member. Working
together with such an organization will definitely provide good
opportunities in the area of sports. With CISF on board as Hockey
India’s Associate Member, we look forward to a healthy sports
environment both on National and International front hereon”, said
Dr. Narinder Batra, Secretary General, Hockey India.
Hockey
India currently has 26 Permanent Member units, 20 Associate Members,
2 Members through State Olympic Associations, 5 Academy Members
and 1 Hoc-Key Member.
