SKIN & HAIR CLINIC BY DR.DEEPALI BHARDWAJ INTRODUCES VAMPIRE FACIALS (PRP THERAPY)

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma and if it is made properly with patient’s fresh blood after checking the total platelet count then it is a super innovative method for anti ageing and general skin rejuvenation in comparison to most others today and of yester years like Botox.
PRP Therapy  offers  the renewal one needs to have a fuller, healthier rejuvenated skin in just one sitting of injections but, it should be repeated at 3 monthly intervals for 2-3 times after first  sitting for maximizing the results.

  • Procedural Details

In this therapy, patient’s own blood is taken and sent to lab to prepare a layer of plasma, rich in platelets and different growth factors. It is then injected into the skin with same tuberculin syringe which comes with red cap that is also used for injecting botox. This procedure is done under local anaesthesia to make it nearly pain free and topical antibiotics are then applied on face before sending patient home. Patient can wash face after 2 hours as usual and should AVOID sun exposure for first 24 hours and also make up and night creams.

  • How does it work?

It is a biological therapy. Prepared plasma contains platelets which are numerous than in normal blood. It has different growth factors especially PDGF and VEGF. Both these factors have significant positive effects on hair growth. PRP may actually wake up dormant stem cells in the follicles giving neocollagenesis. So this therapy gives strength to the existing collagen, reduces ageing and likely to help in stimulating stem cells intra-cutaneously.

  • Safety Criteria

As patients own plasma is used, it is unlikely to risk in anyway. No untoward side effects have been reported so far except some patients might feel burning/soreness sensation which last for a day or so.

In comparison to Botox, which contains botulinium toxin PRP is definitely good and better but of course botox is more temporary and artificial though botox in well trained hands is definitely safe but is a foreign substitute to PRP surely!
