Abacus appoints Jeremy van de Klundert Managing Director, Sabre Pacific

Mumbai, 14 April 2014 – Travel technology leader in Asia Pacific, Abacus International has today announced the appointment of Jeremy van de Klundert as Managing Director of subsidiary, Sabre Pacific to take forward the distribution strategy for Australia and New Zealand.

Van de Klundert has served in similar roles, including five years with global distribution systems in Europe, three with a major travel agency and more recently five heading global assistance company, International SOSin developing North Asia.

Commenting on the appointment, Brett Henry, Vice President - Commercialfor Abacus said, “Jeremy brings to the business the insight to develop core and adjacent market strategies, as we continue to build out with new content and platforms across the Pacific. This is a key role and we are delighted to secure someone with the leadership skills and drive to help us scale.”

Van de Klundert added, “There is a lot of opportunity in the travel vertical and we have the solutions and expertise to realise its potential, in partnership with the Australian and New Zealand travel communities. I am very excited to be joining the team at Sabre Pacific.”

Sabre Pacific’s current distribution grid includes travel buyers at over 2,000 agency locations, supported from the company’s Sydney headquarters and local Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Auckland offices.

New Zealand national and MBA graduate, van de Klundert will report to Henry who has been covering the territory in an interim role over recent months.
