Polo exhibition for a cause

New Delhi 26 February, 2014: The Delhi chapter of the old Sanawarian society of the Lawrence school, Sanawar, founded 1847 organized a classic game of Polo, the Sanawar International Polo 2014, today, on 26th Feb at the Jaipur Polo grounds. This event was first started in 1987 and is organized as a tradition every year.

The event was sponsored by Silver Arrows- dealer for Mercedes-Benz, passenger vehicles in Delhi and NCR and Matrix, The Beer Café & ‘Aulakh The Man’.

The chief guest of the event was the ambassador of Argentina, HE  & the guests of honor were, Mr Marcial & Ms Fabiana, The headmaster of the school Mr Praveen Vashist along with his wife also attended the match .  The two rival teams, the Birdwood and Barne Hall, who had some very well known players like Jai Shergill, Gurpal Singh, Uday Kalan & Col Navjeet Sandhu ( most valuable player)  in their ranks, were face to face  for an exciting match. And what a match it turned out be, when fortunes swung from one side to the other. Eventually, the match was tied at four goals each and the honours shared.

 The event was also attended by a lot of well known faces from all walks of life to name a few Daksh Oberoi, Sonia Jetley, Kashish Sharma, Dr. Gaganpreet Kapur, Divya jamwal, Puneet Chibber, Sahiba Singh, Actor Saurabh Mailk, Maninder Sethi, Prabhjeet.

Ikraam Aulakh, the chief organizer said, “Today in true sense represented Polo as the king of the games and a game of the kings”. Money raised from the event will go towards sponsoring the best athlete of School will be sent to argentina for one month Polo training with La Martina Family.
